July into August 2022 saw superb teenage angler Rowan visit Le Petite Coquais.

Fishing mostly on his own and catching consistently throughout the week Rowan caught a number of carp with new Grass Carp and Sturgeon PB’s thrown in for good measure.

He’s a superb young angler who certainly knows his stuff and even in hot temperatures was getting bites.

The heat continued across France throughout July w

The heat continued across France throughout July with many venues struggling to do more than a couple of bites.

That wasn’t the case for regulars Ian, Saskia, Rob and Tony at La Petite Coquais.

Despite fishing on a difficult week with extreme heat they still managed a few out during mid to late evenings.

They even manages a couple of PB’s for both Rob & Tony. Good angling.

Le Glandon is set in the Burgundy region of east-c

Le Glandon is set in the Burgundy region of east-central France and contains multiple 50lb, 60lb and 70lb+ carp.

The stock of carp is simply incredible and arguably one of the best big fish waters in France. There’s an estimated one hundred and twenty 40’s, fifty 50’s with six known 55lb+, nine 60’s and two 70lb+ including a lake record mirror carp at 76lb 15oz. The lake is approximately six hours drive from Calais, is 12 acres in size and resembles an old English estate lake. With a maximum of 10 anglers fishing during any given week and 18 swims to choose from there’s plenty of water for all.

There’s a dining loge located near one corner of the lake, which is based on a small “English country pub. This is where the English breakfasts and two course evening meals are served. The food package is included in the price. Other features include a log fire for the colder weeks and a bar. We have plenty of freezer space for all your baits, UK sockets for charging your mobile phone; bait boat, camera. There is an English toilet and hot shower facilities.

The food package is included in the price for your weeks fishing. The fixed meal times are 09.30 am for breakfast and 18.30 pm for dinner.

Prices start from £580 per person per week.
Lake exclusive is from £5,800 per week.

Brothers Lake was dug in the 1950’s and is situated in Central Western France in the rolling hills of the limousine countryside.

What really got our attention and what we really like about Brothers Lake is the stock. Unlike some French fisheries there’s real variety in the fish and as you can see from the pictures, some absolute ‘scaly bangers’ live at this venue.

The lake is 5.5 acres, hosts a maximum of 4 anglers per week and carp to 65lb.

CHALET DE L’ILE Chalet De L’ile is a mature tr

CHALET DE L’ILE
Chalet De L’ile is a mature tree lined 17 acre lake and holds approximately 400 carp to 60lbs.

Chalet De L’ile is just over 3 hours drive from Calais and is available for exclusive bookings. The lake has 4 double swims and can be fished my a maximum of 8 anglers. All swims have lots of room for 2 anglers and are flat with wood chip covering the ground and include a picnic table.

There is a swim which is located on the island. This swim includes your own private wooden chalet. The chalet includes 2 beds and a kitchen area with a sink, gas cooker and gas fridge. A short walk from the lake are hot showers, toilets and there are also charging points.

Around 300 of the fish stock are between 20lb – 30lbs, approximately fifty are between 30lb and 40lbs and about twenty are between 40lb to 60lbs. The depths range from 3 feet in the shallowest areas to 20 feet in the deepest parts.

Zodiac boats are available to hire at £10.00 for 24 hours. The boats are ideal for locating spots and baiting up. Crayfish and water snails are present in the lake.

Boilies and a mixture of particles can be bought on site. Please pre-order before your trip.

There isn’t a food package at Chalet De L’ile however the lake owner will go to the supermarket for customers twice a week to enable you to maximise time at the lake should you wish.

Bookings are from Saturday (10am) until the following Saturday (10am).

Prices are from £200 per person.
VIP Chalet from £550 per week.
Lake Exclusive from £1,400 per week.
