OVERVIEW
Nestled in the French countryside, Tranquillity Lakes is a peaceful retreat for anglers seeking an enjoyable carp fishing in France experience. Lake 1 is a mature, tree-lined lake set within a spacious, natural environment, offering a calm and scenic backdrop for a day on the water.
Fishing is available from one side of the lake, with a combination of comfortable single and double swims, depths range from 4ft-18ft while a central feature island adds character and visual interest. Whether you’re casting in the morning or spending a relaxing afternoon surrounded by nature, the lake provides a tranquil and picturesque setting for carp fishing in France.
FISH STOCK
Tranquillity Lake 1 contains approximately 180 common carp and mirror carp ranging from 20lbs to 68lbs +. The average weight is about 36lb – 37lb with roughly 20 fish over 50lb’s (20kg) up to 68lb’s (30kg+).
There are no known catfish, poission chat or bream in Tranquillity Lake 1.
FACILITIES & FOOD
On site you’ll find the log cabin equiped with UK sockets for recharging batteries, fridge and bait freezer facilities, social eating area and seperate toilets and shower block.
There are two portable gas fridges on site available to hire for €60 euros per fridge per week. A €40 deposit is required for fridge hire and payment is made directly to the bailiff on arrival.
An optional food package which includes breakfast and evening meal is available from €180 per person per week. Breakfast is served to you swim. Please note, breakfast is not served on Saturday morning. Evening meals are served in the lodge, with the exception of Saturday when evening meals are delivered to your swim. The breakfast baguette can be ordered from €9 per person per day.
MENU EXAMPLE:
Breakfasts: Egg, bacon or sausage baguette.
Evening Meals: Lasagne, saussage mash & peas, gammon egg & chips, cottage pie, chicken burger chips & salad, BBQ, spaghetti bolognese (or chicken, mash & veg as an alternative).
The supermarket is 10 minutes drive away and there’s a kebab takeaway 15 minutes drive away in the nearby town.
Accommodation and food are chargeable extra and are to be arranged with the bailiff prior to your arrival. Payment for food and accommodation is made directly to the bailiff on arrival in euros.
TACKLE & BAIT
Carp Care Equipment: Landing nets, unhooking mats, and weigh slings are provided for each angler. Upon receiving this equipment on arrival, each angler is required to pay a refundable €120 cash deposit directly to the bailiff. The bailiff will inspect all equipment upon return and has the final decision on whether it is undamaged. The deposit will be fully refunded on departure, provided the equipment is returned to the bailiff in good condition and undamaged. If equipment is damaged or not returned, Tranquillity Lakes reserves the right to retain an amount of the deposit reasonably necessary to repair or replace the equipment.
Vehicle access for loading and unloading near the swims may be permitted depending on ground conditions. If vehicle access is not possible, anglers may need to use barrows to transport equipment to their swim. At the time of writing, four barrows are available on site for anglers to use. The walk from the car park to the swims varies, with the furthest swim approximately 80 yards away and the closest around 25 yards.
Bait is also available at Tranquillity Lakes. Bait is ordered 2-3 weeks in advance of your holiday start date and payment is made directly to the bailiff on arrival in euros. Please note that only pellet and particle purchased from Tranquillity Lakes may be used on site.

The lake is approximately 3.5 hours drive from Calais.

RULES
These rules are implicated to ensure the safety of the fish and our guests.
Failure to abide by them, will result in you being asked to leave the fishery without a refund.
- Maximum of 3 rods allowed and rods must NEVER leave unattended at anytime. Minimum 15lb line.
- No fixed leads, lead core, leaders or naked line. Only Korda style leaders allowed or tubing. No magic twig. No Zig Rigs.
- No braided fishing line. Braided line is permitted for marker and spod rods ONLY.
- Micro barb hooks only, Minimum size 6.
- No sacking of fish.
- Antiseptic must be used & present at weigh station and used accordingly.
- No rowing boats. Bait boats are allowed, please respect other anglers at all times.
- No nuts.
- Only pellet and particle purchased from Tranquillity Lakes may be used on site.
- No litter around lake and please use bins that are provided, (this includes cigarette butts) Re-cycling must be done please.
- Bivvies only. (No coloured tents or gazebos)
- The lake gate must be locked at all times.
- No open fires. (BBQs may be used, but all waste coals must be cleared away.)
- No excessive alcohol use.
- No drugs.
- No showers after 9.15am for leaving guests on Saturday mornings.
- Guests for Lake 1 and Lake 2 will be allowed onto fishery when gates open at 12.00 midday until 1pm on the Saturday of arrival and will be required to vacate swims by 9am and leave fishery by 9.30am on morning of leaving.
