CC Moore's Homeless Clothing Appeal Supported by UK Angling Community
Carp Social | Feature Date: 22nd December 2019
UK Anglers Unite to Support CC Moore’s Winter Homeless Clothing Appeal
As winter temperatures begin to bite across the UK, bait company CC Moore has once again called on the carp fishing and wider angling community to support its annual Homeless Clothing Appeal.
Following strong support from anglers, tackle retailers and businesses during previous campaigns, the appeal aims to provide essential winter clothing and outdoor equipment to homeless and vulnerable people during the colder months.
Working alongside charities including SSAFA — the Armed Forces charity — and St Mungo’s, the initiative highlights the positive community spirit that exists throughout the UK carp fishing scene.
Anglers Supporting Communities Beyond the Bank
The appeal encourages anglers to donate warm, practical clothing and outdoor equipment that can make a genuine difference to those facing difficult conditions throughout winter.
Requested items include:
- Hoodies and sweaters
- Waterproof outerwear
- Thermal jackets and trousers
- Hats, gloves and socks
- Sleeping bags
Many of the items commonly used by anglers during winter sessions — particularly waterproofs and thermal layers — can provide much-needed protection for vulnerable people exposed to harsh weather conditions.
Tackle Shops and Collection Points Across the UK
Alongside direct donations sent to CC Moore’s Dorset headquarters, a number of well-known tackle retailers across the UK also supported the campaign by acting as collection points for donated clothing and equipment.
Participating stores included tackle shops in Swindon, Canterbury, Dartford, Yateley, Tonbridge, Crewe and Sutton Coldfield, helping anglers nationwide contribute to the appeal locally.
The campaign once again demonstrated how closely connected the UK angling industry remains, with retailers, anglers and brands all working together to support a worthwhile cause beyond fishing itself.
Community Spirit Within Carp Fishing
While modern carp fishing is often associated with big carp, European carp fishing holidays and the latest tackle innovations, campaigns such as this serve as a reminder of the strong community values that still exist throughout angling.
Across the UK, anglers regularly support charities, fundraising events and local causes, with many within the carp fishing scene recognising the importance of giving something back during difficult times.
Whether it’s supporting local food banks, fundraising events or winter clothing appeals, initiatives like this continue to show the positive side of the UK angling community.
How to Donate
Anglers wishing to support the appeal were encouraged to donate clean, usable winter clothing and outdoor equipment suitable for cold weather conditions.
Donations could be sent directly to CC Moore or dropped into participating tackle retailers supporting the campaign.
As winter conditions continue across the UK, organisers hope the angling community can once again come together to support vulnerable people who may otherwise struggle during the colder months.
